Chiron in Practice.

What do we already know about Chiron?

The Wounded Healer | the Wounded Warrior. At his best, in spite of all that “had happened to him” he wanted to teach, give back & serve those keen to learn. In myth he was docile, different from others of his kind & was a gifted teacher to powerful legends of the time.

Today, we are not talking about Chiron in Myth - but Chiron in the Birth Chart. What does this placement means for you? How can you navigate it? Work with it? Heal it? & offer something to the world in return. ..

This placement (in my practice & life) has always felt like that wince, the wound - that we don’t always like looking at but the one that lingers, simmers & festers.

It pokes up from behind our eyes… whispers of lack, shame & low self worth. But at the end of the day: this is also the placement we could teach a lecture on, tell a grand story at a cocktail party about. We know it, we’ve lived it & we can speak from “I statements” when talking about it.

When I set the intention…

to record the video companion to this Blog post on a Sunday afternoon… that night - I had a dream about the “map” of working with Chiron in your own birth chart: where the wounding is placed, how this might show up in your life - unconscious patterning that supports the wounding & exactly where the healing lives.

It blew my mind & was the exact patterning that had showed up in my life many times over. We also discussed how you can view your entire chart through unhealed eyes. No matter the signs, houses, grid - any of it! If you don’t unlearn certain patterns the chart can manifest however you “see” it. If you have not watched the video companion yet - you can watch it here:

Going Over the Map in Your Chart.

When you are keen to add Astrology & Chart Reading into your Daily Life, or if this language is new to you:

Foundations & Flow: Astrology for Real Life is for you.

Let’s go over this together. Pull up your own birth chart: find Chiron, the South Node (not always visual in charts but is complete opposite to the North Node) & Saturn.

Find the SIGN & HOUSE that all three placements fall in. This is YOUR MAP:

  • Chiron is where the wounding lives

  • The South Node is how this might have shown up in your life - your “not self” themes

  • Saturn is the medicine - this is where we heal.

When you’ve found these placements - I welcome you to journal out how this has played out in your personal life until now:

  • How has my Chiron placement shown itself in my earlier years or in the voice inside my head that has ever told me: “I am not enough?”

  • How has my South Node placement shown up: have I kept myself “stuck” in situations or patterning that did not serve my growth? Have I stayed quiet when I knew I must speak? Have I retreated into fear instead of leaning-in to courage?

  • How do I work with my Saturn placement? Do I fear it or flow with it? How has Saturn shown up in my past? What was my Saturn Return like (around age 29)? Or any other aspect Saturn has made to it’s natal placement?

A Side Quest on Timing, Transits & Aspects Made to Your Natal Planets | Age Matters Here.

A Saturn Return? We can bank on that. This happens around age 29/30 & if you know Astrology - you know it well. The Saturn sextiles, squares, trines & that Saturn opposition around 21/22? Same thing! We know the timing of these transits. The orbs are consistent no matter the sign & we can track those movements (as well as with the Nodes) with precision. That means we can share the Saturn journey with others— regardless of age. Translation: no matter how old you are now, you will have a Saturn Return at 29/30 & all the other key Saturn aspects will hit around the same ages. It’s predictable. We know what’s coming.

What’s fascinating, though, is that Chiron doesn’t spend the same amount of time in each sign. That means your personal Chiron transits and healing journey will be highly individual. Depending on where Chiron lands in your birth chart — & what sign he falls in — his expression will manifest very differently.

Yes, Chiron completes a full journey around the Sun in about 50.7 years, so we’ll all experience a Chiron Return around ages 49–51 (we call that in the human world: a midlife crisis). We all end up at the same destination... but the journey to get there? That’s wildly unique.

Thanks to Chat, here is a timetable for Chiron transits:

Chiron Through the Zodiac – Approximate Duration in Each Sign

♓ Pisces – 7 to 8 years

♈ Aries – 7 to 8 years

♉ Taurus – 4 to 5 years

♊ Gemini – 2 to 3 years

♋ Cancer – 2 to 3 years

♌ Leo – 2.5 to 3 years

♍ Virgo – 1.5 to 2 years

♎ Libra – 1.5 to 2 years

♏ Scorpio – ~2 years

♐ Sagittarius – ~2 years

♑ Capricorn – 2 to 2.5 years

♒ Aquarius – 3 to 4 years

This is so fascinating & makes so much sense as to:

  • Why it feels like Chiron has been in Aries for a LONG time - since before I studied Astrology… because he has been!

  • Why my early years in life were VERY transformative & upheaving. When others might have their Chiron Opposition in their mid- to-late 30s… I had mine at 13.

Like I said in the video & what we must remember about these facts: this is not a competition, or a place to “label our traumas on our lapel” & say: “I am the way that I am because of this. I don’t need to heal because of it.” We cannot blame the planets for our life - they are there for us to say: “Oh, wow! THIS validates why I contracted that time in life to be so much. THIS is why I feel the way that I do about myself.” It gives validation to your feelings!

Give yourself the time & space to feel your feelings but be aware as you step into this work.

Healing the placement of the Wounded Healer will take (you guessed it) A Healer! We are not meant to do any of this work alone & having an aligned practitioner who can help you process these wounds with is of the utmost importance. We all have this placement in our chart & when a YouTube Subscriber asked me to touch upon this topic - I had no idea how deep this would go. I am so grateful & will do more videos & blogs on the topic if requested.

One thing I am discovering in my practice & was truly validated while creating my Mastering Mars program is that: for many, talk therapy could be quite damaging. No matter how traumatic you have labeled your traumas: “big T or little t” traumas STILL live in the body & we must feel them, love them & find ways to move through them. The only way out is through.

If you are not given A: a safe space to land & gentle step out of the trauma & B: the tools to move forward & learn new, supportive habits - this is a place where you can get “stuck” in your awakening & on your healing journey.

This is also a place where people bypass - saying things like: “oh yeah! I contracted that opposition at 13 so of course life would fall apart, this is MY fault.” Instead of saying: “That happened to me, that really hurt & I am safe to feel this pain while not identifying with it”. Finding someone to hold that container for you - that is what healing is all about.

This work is not all love & light.

Be aware as you step into healing work, ask for help & guidance & spend the time to find the practitioner, therapist, coach, healer, shaman, reader, channeler, guide that is right for you. This world we live in takes discernment to navigate - it is not a passive world by any means! But that doesn’t mean that YOU are not worth the time & energy it takes to find the right person to hold your hand during this time of healing & growth.

Everybody needs somebody… that means you too.

“Healing” Chiron is a life long process.

At this time, I welcome you to contemplate for a moment & journal if that is helpful:

  • What if I told you that healing never ends? That when you evolve, you start to see the past with fresh eyes & learn more about yourself in a deeper way?

  • That there is no: “tada! I’m healed now & I can start my life!”

  • What if you began to love yourself where you are as you are & take the time to integrate the practices that you need right now - to get you “over the bridge”

Going “Over the Bridge”

When working with clients — & especially during consultations — one question I always ask is: “Where do you see yourself now & where do you wish to be? What is the bridge that you see in front of you?” The answer helps me determine A: what service of mine I would recommend & then answer questions about that service & B: if I am the practitioner for you.

It would be incredibly egoic of me & fully against my own integrity to think that I am the Channeler for everyone & I will be the first one to tell you if I am not. There are billions of humans on the planet & finding the right one to work with - takes God, yes but also personal & professional discernment. I am right there with you & we must remember that Sacred No is a resounding YES to the proper practitioner! The one who will actually get you over the bridge. THAT is the point of it all. THAT is what matters most.
